Collins or Reid...
When both fully fit Collins has been better than Reid this season in my opinion....much better in the air

Seems like we had our best defensive performances with Collins and Ogbonna

This season Reid has been injury prone...and has had too many below par displays...error prone and not dominating in the air...

Opinions please

Re: Collins or Reid...
Reid hasnt been himself for a while but pound for pound he is a better ball player.

Having said that, I feel a lot more confident with Collins at the back along side Ogbonna than Reid.

I agree, ginge has been steadier

Re: Collins or Reid...
Ginger Pele is the better defender but his distribution is shit, he still lumps it up a lot but yes, as a defender, I prefer him to Reid

Re: Collins or Reid...
Ginge for me, both have poor distribution but Ginge is stronger in the air and a better defender

Ginge is an absolute stallion, although he is prone to the odd decision every now and then.....

Re: Collins or Reid...
Depends on the opposition and how they play. Quick tricky forwards cause Collins problems on the deck but if they are going to cross balls in and you need someone to defend set plays, Collins will do a great job and put his body in the way.

We are lucky to have so many good options as when you look around many of the teams their centre backs look very dodgy - even the ones who have cost millions.

Ginge more solid, better defender this year, better partnership with Ogbonna.

Play them both, big Jimmy up with big Andy, lump it up. and if that fails back to normal.
You know it makes sense

Re: Collins or Reid...
The form Ginge was in before his injury, it's got to be him & Ogbonna

Not sure what's up with Reid. He's been underperforming for a while now. On his day he's better than Ginge but he hasn't been on his game for a while now

been too shaky at the back, and for that reason, ginge.

Lertie- I remember a similar experiment many years ago when Lyall tried playing Tommy Taylor up front after he had scored a screamer free kick and got a bit carried away!
I think the only good thing about that was when he kicked the Chelsea keeper in the head and he had to go off injured!!

Re: Collins or Reid...
Ginge all day for me at the moment/. Bloke has been immense and has also stopped the hoofing. No striers like playing against him.

When Reid is playing well, he s probably better on the ball but Ginge has earnt his place.

COLLINS all day long, reid can fuck right off as it happens, well overrated

Re: Collins or Reid...
Ginge was immense before his injury and I would definitely put him in the side over Reid. His distribution has been much better this year and actually, Far Cough, he rarely plays it long - Slav didn't take long to put a stop to that.

M - I remember the Tommy Taylor experiment, let's be honest he wasn't much of a defender either.
Give me Jimmy Ginge Collins any day

Re: Collins or Reid...
I agree with Exile.... Collins distribution has been excellent this season. It makes you wonder what instructions he was under from BFS. It is very clear that Bilic rates him very highly as well. So for me it is Collins/Ogbonna at the moment ... but we are so blessed with centre back strength in depth AND we're hearing rave reviews about Burke at Bradford.

Re: Collins or Reid...
Am amazed that the one thing everyone seems to agree on is Ogbonna.

Not convinced. Error prone, not great distribution, always looks a bit off the pace and u can see he's spent a long time defending against slow Italian strikers. Plus anyone who captains Torino and then moves to Juve is a wrong'un.

Personally, I think that after a striker another CB is the most important thing we need this summer. Would love to see Dragovic partnering Reid. Europa League should give Burke some first team opportunities. Can't wait to see him in c&b.
